I usually don’t spend that much on meat except for Sunday’s when we have a roast and if we buy Salmon. So the meat was a bit of a splurge for us. I also don’t make dessert every day and it was our second most expensive part of the dinner. We rarely drink anything but water for our meals so the drink was also a splurge for us. In addition to a nice dinner, we also have leftovers for lunch today.
Eating Out:
Olive Garden: $40.00
Flemming’s Fine Dining for two $95.00
One of our favorite places to eat is Olive Garden. Our family of five can usually walk out paying $40.00 with taxes. We usually only order one kids meals to share or none at all and we often will just order one entree with a soup or salad added.
A few weeks ago my husband and I had the pleasure of fine dinning at the Flemming’s steak house. It was good but not $95.00 good! Luckily we had a gift card so we didn’t pay the full price of $95.00! May I add that we don’t drink wine so add on a nice bottle of wine and your price could double.

For $14.10 I was able to make a nice meal for dinner and we will have leftovers for lunch! This breaks down to $2.82 a person for lunch and dinner! When we eat out it cost us 2 to 3 times more to eat just one meal! Here’s where I said: WOW! One fine dining meal for two is like a week’s worth of dinner for 5!
