Cornbread

Cornbread is one of my favorite things to eat. I don’t like all the extras that a lot of people like to add to it. So here’s for a simple recipe that takes about 2 mintues to make!

1 cup corn meal                           1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup white flour                          1 egg
1/4 cup sugar                               1 cup milk
1/2 cup cooking oil (I like to add 1/4 cup applesauce, 1/4 cup oil)
                        4 teaspoons baking powder

Mix dry ingredients together. Combine wet ingredients and add well to dry mixture. Pour into two 8 inch square pans if you like your bread really thin, or one 9 inch square pan for thick. I like thick!  Bake in a hot oven for about 20 minutes.
