Breakfast is probably my favorite meal of the day. Growing up, this was one of the meals we had when it was dad’s turn to cook breakfast.
Ingredients:
1 1/2 cup flour
3/4 cup sugar
2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup shortening (or margarine)
3/4 cup milk
1 egg
Instructions:
Mix flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Mix shortening with dry mixture until crumbly. Add milk and egg and mix well. Place in greased 9×9 pan. Sprinkle with topping.
Topping:
1/3 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup flour
1/2 teaspoon Cinnamon
3 tablespoons butter
Mix ingredients till crumbly. Sprinkle on top of cake batter. Bake in oven at 375 degrees for 25 min. Check with toothpick. Serve warm with peaches.
