Yesterday at Kroger I was able to pick up some Organic Spaghetti and Butternut Squash for $0.99 (manager’s special). I brought them home and made baby food for my 7 month old using my handy-dandy Cuisinart Smart Stick Hand Blender .
To make the Baby Food I washed, cut in half leaving the skins, then I baked the squash until a fork was inserted smoothly. Next I scooped out the squash removing the skins added about a cup of water. This may vary depending on how much squash you are baking. Using my Hand Blender I blended the squash until is was the smooth consistency my baby will like.
My hand blender is one of my favorite kitchen gadgets that I wouldn’t want to do without. I use it to make baby food, my version of re-fried beans, eggs, dressing, pie filling, and anything I need to blend. This is a great gift idea for mom’s, sisters, and friends. Right now Amazon has the Cuisinart SmartStick Hand Blender for $28.99 and FREE Shipping (down from $55).

I love my handblender too, it is amazing the stuff it can do, and it is such a time saver. It is easy to clean up, especially compared to a regular food processor.
I have a different model and love mine too! We had it for years, my hubby used it for his protien shakes. When we downsized and moved from MN to FL when the kids moved out, we moved 6 times in 2 years before getting settled. Anyway, bought a house, have 50 people coming for a houswarming, went to make the cupcakes and my beaters did not match the beater hand mixer i had!! How I dont know because had just used it 6 weeks before THIS move!…..Whipped out the “shake” mixer, mine has different attachments. Attached the whisk beater, that was 2 years ago and have been using it for cakes since! What is funny, is that I work at a kitchen store but am kinda anti appliance. I LOVE multiple uses for 1 item….
