1 pound ground beef
1 pound package of tator tots (thawed)
2 teaspoon onion flakes or 1/4 chopped onion
2 cans of cream of mushroom soup
grated cheddar cheese
Directions:
Cook hamburger with onion and put it in the bottom of a 9×13 casserole dish. Layer the tator tots on top of the hamburger. Combine soups and pour over tator tots. Sprinkle the top with grated cheese.
Bake at 350 for 15-20 min.

I’ve been making this recipe for years with just a couple of variations which might make it a bit easier. Instead of having to thaw the tator tots, just cover the dish with foil before baking. I bake it for about 40 minutes at 350 degrees covered with the foil, then uncover it and bake for an additional 15 minutes. The tator tots still end up crispy in the end. This way you don’t have to remember to thaw the tator tots, of course you do have to stick it in the oven earlier, though.
