Oh the joys of being a student. There are so many expenses – tuition, lab fees, lab supplies, and lots of expensive books! If Daniel had purchased all of his books for the semester at the campus bookstore, he would have spent $550 on books for this semester!
Luckily, we only had to purchase 3 of his books at the bookstore. We bought a few books from a friend, and the rest we were able to get on Amazon.com
We paid half price for the books from Amazon and they were at our apartment in 2 days. Total we spent $305 on Daniel’s books instead of $550. Thank you Amazon for low prices and convenience.

Yesterday at Kroger I was able to pick up some Organic Spaghetti and Butternut Squash for $0.99 (manager’s special). I brought them home and made baby food for my 7 month old using my handy-dandy Cuisinart Smart Stick Hand Blender 
To make the Baby Food I washed, cut in half leaving the skins, then I baked the squash until a fork was inserted smoothly. Next I scooped out the squash removing the skins added about a cup of water. This may vary depending on how much squash you are baking. Using my Hand Blender I blended the squash until is was the smooth consistency my baby will like.
My hand blender is one of my favorite kitchen gadgets that I wouldn’t want to do without. I use it to make baby food, my version of re-fried beans, eggs, dressing, pie filling, and anything I need to blend. This is a great gift idea for mom’s, sisters, and friends. Amazon recently launched a new clothing deal site called MYHABIT. They offer name brand clothing at huge discounts.
A few highlights of the new site:
Just use the coupon code MYHABIT1 or MYHABITX at check out from now through September 1, 2011. I saw several items that would have been free with the code, but they sold out pretty quickly. If you watch really close you might be able to get something free.
Overall I thought most of the clothing was still expensive, but I am pretty cheap when it comes to clothes. There were a few items you could get for under $10 with this code.
